SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

REQUIREMENTS:

Reside within the corporate city limits of the City of Rockville, or attend Rockvile, Richard Montgomery or Wootton High Schools, or be a college student attending Montgomery College-Rockville campus.
Provide 2 letters of recommendation. At least one should address your character and integrity. (Do not include letters from family members.)
Provide an official copy of your latest high school or college transcript.
Submit a personal essay: Discuss how your proposed course of study will support your career goals, and how your education, when completed, will benefit your community. Describe your financial need, as well. The essay should be typed & double spaced (no more than 500 words).
Attach a resume that includes your academic and extracurricular accomplishments and achievements to date, including honors and awards, leadership roles, your work and/or volunteer experiences. You should include religious or community activities as well.
Attend a spring awards ceremony held in Rockville.
Submit a completed and signed copy of this application form postmarked no later than April 16, 2010.

APPLICATIONS WILL BE EVALUATED ON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

CHECK LIST FOR WHAT SHOULD BE IN YOUR PACKET:

Completed and legible application
Official high school or college transcript
Personal essay and resume
Two letters of recommendation
Documentation of financial need, if you would like this considered
(This may include a copy of your FAFSA results or copy of parents/guardians or your most recent tax return)
NOTE: confidential material will be destroyed after the selection process
